Dieses Heft besteht aus drei komplementären Teilen: den Kompositionen für Malletspieler und ein begleitendes Percussion-Ensemble, einem Kapitel mit vorbereitenden Übungen für Balafon (Marimba, Xylofon, Vibrafon) und eine Anleitung, wie Sie mit Hilfe der "Body-Percussion" Ihr Rhythmusbewusstsein erweitern können. Ergänzend dazu ein erklärender Text zum Balafon.
This book consists of three complementary parts: the compositions for mallet player(s) and percussion ensemble, a chapter with preparatory exercises for balafon (marimba, Xylophone, vibes) and a method for a deeper understanding of rhythm by practising "body percussion", completed by a feature about the balafon.
Ce livre comprend trois parties ; les compositions pour percussions à clavier et ensemble de percussions, un chapitre d'exercices préparatoires pour balafon (marimba, xylophone, vibraphone) et une méthode pour mieux comprendre le rythme en pratiquant la Body Percussion; il est complété par un texte sur le balafon.
Die vorbereitenden Übungen sind inspiriert von der afrikanischen Balafontechnik, die man "Two-Way-Coordination" nennt, d.h. eine Hand begleitet ostinato, die andere spielt Melodie oder Solo. Die Übungen, die auf Marimba, Xylofon und Vibrafon, aber auch auf Timbales oder Drumset übertragbar sind, führen Sie Schritt für Schritt zur Beherrschung des Malletparts des jeweiligen Stückes. Darüber hinaus wird die Unabhängigkeit zwischen den Händen (... und Füßen) trainiert.
The preparatory exercises are inspired by African balafon technique, the so-called "Two-Way-Coordination": one hand accompanies playing an ostinato. the other plays the melody. The exercises can be played on marimba, Xylophone and vibes, as well as on Latin timbales or drum set. They lead you step by step to master the mallet part of each piece. Their practise develops independence between hands (... and feet).
Les exercices préparatoires sont inspirés par la technique de balafon africain qu'on appelle " Two-Way-Coordination ", qui signifie qu'une main accompagne par un ostinato, et que l'autre joue la mélodie. Ces exercices peuvent être Joués sur marimba, xylophone et vibraphone, mais aussi sur une batterie et des timbales latines. Ils vous emmènent pas à pas vers la maîtrise des parties pour percussions à clavier de chaque morceau. Leur pratique développe l'indépendance des deux mains (... et celle des pieds).
Mit dem Konzept des "Multicolour Drumming" wird die Rechts-Links-Bewegung zur Melodie entwickelt (siehe Vorübungen ab Seite 12).
By the concept of "Multicolour Drumming" the right-left movement becomes a melody (see page 12 "Preparatory Exercises").

In den 5 Stücken kann die Balafonstimme durch ein Marimba oder Xylofon ersetzt werden. Die Kompositionen sind Originalkreationen, deren Melodien, Themen, Motive, Breaks und Arrangements in der traditionellen Musik, im Jazz und in der Pop- und Rockmusik wurzeln. Die Malletparts können auch ohne Ensemble- Begleitung als Solo- und Duostücke gespielt werden.
The mallet parts can be played without percussion ensemble as solo or duo pieces. The balafon part can be replaced in all the five pieces by marimba or xylophone. The compositions are genuine creations whose melodies, themes, motives, breaks and arrangements are influenced by traditional music, jazz, pop and rock.
Le balafon peut être remplacé par le marimba ou le xylophone dans les cinq morceaux. Les compositions sont des créations originales avec des mélodies, thèmes, motifs, breaks et arrangements qui ont leur racines dans la musique traditionnelle, le jazz et les musiques pop et rock. Les parties pour percussions à clavier peuvent être jouées aussi en solo ou en duo sans l'accompagnement d'un ensemble de percussions.
Die Begleitparts für Percussion-Ensemble sind in Instrumentierung und Stilrichtung in der Afro-, Latin- und Pop-Percussion angesiedelt. Sie können auch ohne die Malletparts gespielt und so als rhythmische Basis für Soli, Dialoge etc. von Congas, Bongos, Djembe oder Timbales verwendet werden.
With their instrumentation and style, the scores for percussion ensemble have their roots in Afro-, Latin- and Pop-percussion. They can be played as well without the mallet parts and serve as a rhythmic basis for solo, dialogue, etc. for congas, bongos, djembe or timbales.
De par leur style et instrumentation, les partitions pour ensemble de percussions prennent leurs racines dans l'afro-, latin- ou pop-percussion. Elles peuvent être jouées aussi sans les parties de percussions à clavier et servir comme base rythmique pour des soli, dialogues, etc. de congas, bongos, djembé ou timbales latines.
